This booklet was first developed for individuals and their neighbors to use during a disaster. However, since its first writing, the booklet has been expanded so that it can be used as a model or template by any group or organization in setting up their emergency plan. It contains an introduction to the ICS structure, some basic terminology used by first responders, examples of what an animal care plan can encompass, depending on the size and scope of the disaster and the availability of volunteers and their skill levels. It provides you details on setting up an animal shelter, as well as the duties and responsibilities of each member of the Animal Care Team.
