The class includes an Introduction to SCART; setting up an emergency animal shelter; implementing Incident Command System (ICS); communications; logistics; volunteer roles and responsibilities; teamwork; understanding the needs of various animals; basic animal care and handling; equipment; health and safety of the disaster responders and the animals in their care, including stress management; basic animal first aid and disaster preparedness for individuals and households.
